StairPartsUSA.com features both Amish-crafted turned newel posts and standard newel posts.  The Amish-crafted newel posts are of higher quality and sanded to a much greater extent than the standard newel posts.  We believe our Amish-crafted newel posts are amoung the finest in the world.  Our standard newel posts represent a great value, but are not as meticulously crafted as our Amish newel posts.  Pictured at left is an Amish-craftsman hand-sanding a newel post following turning.  All newel posts not designated as "Amish-crafted" are standard newel posts.

Amish-Craftsmen blend old world Craftsmanship with modern technology to create some of the finest stair parts available.  Pictured above is a lathe used to turn newel posts and balusters.  The Amish adhere to a code that stresses a more self-sufficient life style.  They are prohibited from using electricity in their home, and use diesel generators to power their machinery.

A high-speed lathe turns a block of wood into a beautiful Amish-crafted newel post.  Amish Newel posts and balusters are available in American Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, Hickory, Sapeli Mahogany, and Lyptus.  Need something special, give us a call (800) 403-1480.  Other wood types are available too.

Unlike newel posts that are shipped un-sanded following
their turning the Amish-crafted newel posts are hand-sanded.
Pictures above, an Amish-craftsman sands a newel post.

Following sanding, our Amish-crafted newel posts
and balusters are individually inspected by a master
craftsman to assure it is sanded and turned to the very
highest standards.
