The wood blanks above are what the Amish-craftsman use to create the beautiful wooden balusters that we sell.
The high-speed, precision, Italian lathe pictured above is used to turn the wood blanks into balusters.
The Amish-craftsman carefully monitors the baluster as it goes through the lathe to make sure, that the baluster has no flaws.
Unlike our competitors, each baluster is carefully hand-sanded to make the final finishing easier.
The baluster continues to be sanded until the craftsman is sure that it is excellent condition.
An Amish-craftsmand prides himself in his work. Here the craftsman looks over his balusters to make sure that only the excellent balusters ship to the customers.
StairPartsUSA.com features a large selection of quality wood balusters. We carry both contractor grade wood balusters and Amish-crafted wood balusters. Our Amish-crafted wood balusters are turned one at a time on a percision lathe to insure a furniture like quality turning and are hand-sanded to make your work easier. Our wood balusters are available in most wood species including Red Oak, White Oak, Brazilian Cherry, American Cherry, Maple, Hickory and paint grade. Other wood species like American Walnut, Lyptus, Ipe and others are availble by request. Typically, our balusters are made in 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" sizes but other sizes are available by request.
For those looking for a lower cost alternative, we offer contractor grade wood balusters. These are typically only available in 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" and in paint grade, primed white or red oak. Our contractor grade balusters are usually not available in "off species" woods. Contractor grade balusters are made on high speed production lathes so they are usually not hand sanded nor made from hand selected wood. They are a great value, but not the quality of Amish-crafted balusters. Very few companies are able to offer Amish-crafted wood balusters. You will probably find that our bargain "contractor" grade balusters are the same that our competition sells as their "premium" wood balusters.
