3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 54"	An intermediate newel (sometimes called a landing newel) is often used on a landing or at the top of the stair in a Post to Post Balustrade System. An intermediat newel is often used in these locations to avoid the use of a gooseneck. This system allows the handrail to enter the newel post at one point and leave the newel post at another point. The starting newel (4460 in this series) is often used as the first newel at the start of the stairway and on balcony runs.
